This holiday season will be a different one, for each and everyone of us. 2020 has been a challenging year no one saw coming. A global pandemic breakout made us more thoughtful and more mindful of safeguarding health and the health of those around us. We were called upon to be stronger, more composed and more patient than ever before, maintaining social distancing for long periods of time. Now, come Christmas & New Year’s, it will be so much harder since these holidays especially have always been a time when loved ones near and far gather round to share the love and warmth of festive days. 

But this too shall pass. If anything, 2020 has been a lesson about the way we have become accustomed to living our lives. With the change in the status quo, we are challenged to change our ways temporarily, for a better permanent future. The key is to do so with gratitude in our hearts and with our eyes looking out to the brighter days that are definitely ahead of us. And what better time to do this than during this different holiday season that is upon us? 

You may not be able to have a massive holiday feast with all your family and friends. But that is not necessarily the end of the world. After all, absence makes the heart grow fonder, as well as cultivating a new perception of worth about what we have often taken for granted. It all has to do with the right mindset above anything else, about saving the and cherishing the love we have for each other even though we are not able to share it in person this year. If we can be patient, it will be all the more amazing next year! In the meantime, show your love and affection any way you can. 

At Mayor Hotels, we hope in our heart of hearts, that everything will fall into place, soon. We hope for a time when social distancing is no longer the doctrine that restricts human relations, but in the meantime, instead on focusing on the difficulties this new reality presents, let’s be grateful for all the things we are fortunate to have.
