Get prepared for a lifetime experience in the island of Corfu!

In the summertime, when the weather is fine, we simply can’t wait to welcome you to our family resort at Mayor Capo di Corfu and create unforgettable moments together. To this effect, we are excited to present the flavours, aromas and tastes of our summer in Corfu. Our seafront and poolside restaurants Arete and Il Pirata, are based in Mediterranean and International cuisine so our guests will be able to taste...local goodness, with an international touch that will definitely appease even the pickiest of palettes.
While our main Arete restaurant operates all day long and serves a bountiful, superb buffet breakfast with countless options, our Il Pirata restaurant operates a two menu dining experience (Lunch and A la carte). This gives our distinguished guests the flexibility and diversity about what time they eat, and in terms of options.
In addition, we also cater for guests with special dietary requests, such as Gluten-free, Kids and Vegetarian menus.
Introducing our gastronomical delicacies, we have identified three dishes that we feel will truly boost your experience in terms of discovering Corfu by taste as well.
Presenting some ...classic summer tastes from Il Pirata’s A la carte menu, here are three mouth-watering dishes (a starter, a main and a dessert) that accentuate the Greek cooking flair, and which both children and adults will absolutely love.
The starter: Calamari...with crispy coating and chilli mayonnaise
The fried calamari is a very popular dish with children, adults, locals and visitors alike as it is light, crispy and simply delicious. The Greek seas are rich in molluscs and they have been part of the main Mediterranean cuisine for many many decades. The typical recipe calls for calamari to be thickly battered and deep fried, served piping hot with a splash of fresh lemon juice. Our chefs have perfected the calamari coating, so that it is less dense, achieving the crispiness required, while we serve it with chilli mayonnaise which gives the calamari that extra ‘oomph’ factor.
The main: Lobster pasta...with tomato and fresh herbs
Simple but full of flavour, the lobster pasta dish is served with linguini that has been infused with the flavour of the lobster while it cooks together with the fresh herbs, in a tomato based sauce. One of the most luxurious dishes to have, it is considered the creme-de-la creme of seafood choices: the wholesome flavours of the tender lobster fillet, together with the aromatic fresh herbs will positively win you over. A dish so delicious that it matches the Greek saying, “to have a mother eat and not give her child”. To be on the safe side, maybe order two portions, then.
The dessert: Cheesecake...with fromage frais ‘Anthotyro’ & fruit sauce
A Greek version of the ever classic Cheesecake. Anthotyro is a local, refined, fresh cheese with a low calorific and fat value so using it in desserts is a perfect way to shed some calories off an otherwise rich dessert. The result of using it in a cheesecake recipe is that it makes it lighter than air! Our cheesecake is topped with a thick fruit sauce to make it refreshing and to balance the creaminess of the creme filling.
