Get prepared for a lifetime experience in the island of Corfu!

Corfu town, so elegantly cosmopolitan and so gracefully historic, is, undoubtedly, a romantic place. Especially in Autumn, when the weather is still mild and the first cold spells of winter are still kept at bay, couples will feel absolutely enamoured with romantic strolls in Corfu town by night. When the charming town is all lit up, it is even more enchanting than during the day with the sun revealing the magnitude of its urban tapestry's epic gloriousness. It all begins at sunset, when the sun begins to retire, painting the sky with a handful of colours. Can you think of anything more romantic? Here are some suggestions about how to spend one of the most romantic strolls in Corfu town.
Start your romantic evening with a sunset dinner in the Passaggio Bar Restaurant. It is located on the ground floor of our wonderful hotel 1 km from Corfu town, the adults only Mayor Mon Repos Palace Art Hotel. The gourmet dining venue welcomes patrons from am to pm, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner next to the sea. But during sunset, it is at its most enthralling. The chic surroundings reflect the overall elegance of the town, the menus are carefully devised while the dishes are meticulously executed, with the aim of satiating the most demanding taste palate. After all, the Greeks have a saying that romance passes through the stomach, meaning that a delicious and balanced meal is enough to set your mood for romance.
After a lovely dinner, you can begin your romantic stroll in Corfu town by night. The sunset colours have subsided, and the sky gradually becomes darker shades of blue allowing for the moon to rise and mesmerise with its silver glow. Head out to the left and observe the stunning windmill all lit up; walk to the end of the pier and look back at the wonderful scene that appears before you. From there you can enjoy the amazing panoramic views of the Garitsa Bay and beyond, including the impressive landmark of the Old Fortress to the far right. Follow the paved promenade along the water in order to reach the centre of old Corfu town. It is a highly scenic 20 minute walk or so to reach the Esplanade square.
The Spianada as it is common for the Greeks to call it, is a huge park square that separates the old Corfu town from the Old Fortress. You can stroll through it, making your way as you go admiring the various monuments in the park. Viktoros Dousmani street separates two sections of the park and following that street and turning to the right will take you to the iconic Liston pedestrian walkway. There you will find plenty of cafe bars to enjoy a warm beverage or a drink and take in the ambiance. At the end of the pedestrian walkway of Liston, emerges the Palace of St. Michael and St. George which is also known as the Museum of Asian Art. This landmark has a beautiful garden in front of it where you can pause to admire, while you hold hands and revel in the invincible feeling that being in love begets.
